![]() ![]() It was fun to see some of the historic locations and snap a picture, but it certainly wasn't the "vibe" we were looking for. In addition, we saw recent damage from the riots everywhere (boarded up businesses, graffiti, and a statue removed to vandalism) We had to skip the Capitol building and the surrounding areas since we didn't want to get into a confrontation with demonstrators staging a sit-in, which was disappointing. We didn't exactly feel unsafe, but they definitely made us feel uncomfortable enough not to linger outside in that area. ![]() Like most larger cities, there were a number of homeless mostly sprawled on the ground, especially in the park that hosts the country music walk of fame. Most clubs on lower Broadway had just been closed by the mayor due to the covid and there were not many tourists. Visited during the first week of July during the day, which was probably not the typical experience. downtown Nashville is a overrated and dirty experience one that I wouldn’t recommend in a million years. But if Bars aren’t your scene you’re in luck because you can travel next door to the bar or head across the street to the bar and if all that isn’t your scene you can head down to the nearest bar…the bars are overpriced, grimey and overcapacity, the health inspector even popped into one because they were supposedly not up to code and by the way the food made me feel that didn’t come as a surprise. Every single form of live entertainment in this city is literally just cover bands playing the same 10 “country” songs. The streets are littered with homeless people begging for drugs (not even money just straight up begging for drugs) fortunately it doesn’t get worse once you step inside any establishment downtown but unfortunately it didn’t get any better. The streets were covered in feces, urine, vomit, used condoms, needles and miscellaneous trash it was disgusting. Heard so many good things about downtown Nashville how lively, fun and beautiful it all is, the wide array of talent in live bands/entertainment but there seems to have been some details left out…the first thing to hit me in the face when I stepped downtown was the smell of literal human feces and urine. I don’t know but the city should be doing something to protect people who visit the city and help the homeless. Now the most disturbing thing that happened was a homeless man went up to the Elvis statue outside of a store and started licking the mouth of the statue, this same statue that people were taking pictures with. ![]() Couldn’t even stand and listen to music without someone begging or getting really in your personal space. One corner was not even passable because on the sidewalk there was a homeless man sleeping on a ten by ten tarp and three others were sitting across from him, there was a men carrying a sign that said Smile if you masturbate REALLY? They are everywhere you walk. Went to spend some time listening to music and have some fun however there are people begging every where. I paid 40.00 to park and I didn’t even finish putting my parking ticket in my car and there was a homeless man right up my back asking for money. Such a great city, music, BBQ, fun too bad it is getting overrun with homeless. ![]()
